Judith McInnes is currently a research fellow in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. Her recently completed PhD thesis, ‘Hot weather and the health of working people in a changing climate’ focused on the relationship between high ambient temperature and risk of work-related injury. It included a comparative evaluation of large population-level datasets for epidemiological research purposes, and a review of regulatory policies to mitigate the risk of harm to workers from hot weather. Judy has also contributed to a number of other studies addressing the minimisation of harm to older people from extreme hot weather.
