John Rainbird
Torres Strait Regional Authority, QLD, Australia
- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
John Rainbird has worked for the Torres Strait Regional Authority since 2010 working on the issues of coastal impacts and climate change. The initial focus of the work was on assessing coastal dynamics and impact mitigation options together with building the science understanding and monitoring of climate change in the region. A number of reports on these issues are available on the TSRA website. The Torres Strait Adaptation and Resilience Plan is awaiting final organisational sign off before public release. This plan is the result of ongoing consultation with community representatives, government agencies and adaptation practitioners and focuses on the need to proactively climate risks as well as building general community and regional resilience.
