David has significant experience in climate change adaptation planning and processes, coastal zone management, coastal ecology and water quality. David is a systems thinker with a strong interest in the integration and application of social, economic and ecological information to support decision making. David has a focus on simplifying complex information to support decision making and has contributed to the development of guidelines to support adaptation planning in a variety of sectors including the NRM sector, the investor sector and the coastal sector. David was a lead developer of the highly regarded CoastAdapt resource delivered by NCCARF. He has led large coastal and estuarine projects for the Queensland and NSW state governments, including leading all Queensland Government coastal, estuarine and marine monitoring programs.
